What is JUVEXIN?

JUVEXIN is the ONLY keratin compound scientifically proven to protect and restore hair back to its youthful state. Click here to read more about Global Keratin with Juvexin.

What happens during a Brazilian Keratin Treatment?

During a treatment the hair is first washed, with a clarifying shampoo, to open up the cuticles. Then the treatment is applied, which contains the Keratin. Then heat is applied through straightening irons. The heat seals the Keratin into the hair and so removes the frizz.

What does hair look like after it has been treated?

GKT makes the hair look shiny and healthier. Your hair will also feel softer. Keratin provides a lot of nutrients for the hair; hence it looks so good afterwards.

How long does GKT last?

The GK Treatment lasts up to 2-4 months, maybe longer if hair is washed infrequently. GKT is not permanent and it eventually washes out. The more the hair is washed, the quicker the keratin will be washed out.

I have very curly hair, will the GKT give me straight hair?

GKT is not a chemical straightner and will therefore reduce frizz and make you hair far more manageable. Your hair may become quite straight, but this depends on you hair type and other factors.

Does it guarantee a straight result?

No, you may still have a wave but the frizz will be be reduced and your hair is much more manageable with the time required to style hair being considerably reduced.

Is the Treatment a relaxer?

No. The GK treatment is a keratin based treatment that reduces frizz and  revitalises hair.

Can this Treatment be done on any type of hair?

Yes, this treatment can be done on coloured, highlighted, relaxed, bleached, permed or virgin hair.

Does this treatment work on virgin hair?

Yes. On virgin hair the results will be achieved after the second or third application.

When is the best time to colour my hair?

It is best to colour hair two weeks before the treatment or to wait two weeks after the treatment.

Can the treatment be done on children?

We recommend children at 12 years of age and over.

What if I don’t like having straight hair or this treatment?

GKT can be washed out; it is not permanent like other chemical straighteners. GKT is NOT a hair reconstructor and will not cause damage to the hair.

Can I wash my hair after the treatment?

Yes, hair can be washed normally the next day using the GK Shampoo and Conditioner.

Why do I have to wait to wash my hair?

We recommend waiting so to allow the keratin to be sealed into the hair cuticle.

If I want to get my hair done again, do I have to redo the whole head or can I just have a touch up?

There are no touch ups with the Global keratin treatment. You will get the treatment done again from the roots to ends. Remember, it works better every time.

What shampoo and conditioner should be used after the GK Treatment?

It must be a sodium chloride free shampoo and conditioner. Sodium chloride washes out the keratin faster.

Can I get the treatment done on a monthly basis?

Yes you may have it as often as you would like.

Can I cut my hair before the treatment?

We recommend cutting your hair after having the treatment done.

Can styling products be used during the first 2 days?

Styling products can only be used after the first wash.

Can I get the treatment done while pregnant or nursing?

No.

Can I go swimming in a pool or sea?

Yes but sea water and chlorine reduce the life span of the treatment. Sea water, which is salt water (and salt is Sodium Chloride), and chlorine can strip the keratin out of the hair quicker than normal water. When swimming in a pool or ocean, it is recommended that you use the GK Leave-in Conditioner so that chlorine or salt water beads off your hair. Alternatively use conditioner or sunscreen.

What’s the difference between Reconstructures/Chemical Straghtening and the Global Keratin treatment?

The Global Keratin hair treatment is a keratin based hair treatment that smooths the hair. It can also help recondition the hair and restores shine. The treatment does not alter the hair structure. Reconstructors and other chemical  straighteners work by breaking and rearranging the internal bonds of the hair (identified by the use of a neutralising mask).

Can I do the GK treatment at home?

No. The procedure involves a long and detailed hair straightening process using irons and driers. It takes over 2 hours, and this is not something somebody can “have ago at”. DIY is not recommended!

Instant styling for months of stunning hair...

Some hair may last longer than others – it’s all up to you and your hair. The following will help maintain your salon style hair...
  1. Always use Global Keratin Sodium Chloride free shampoo and conditioner.
  2. Normal shampoo causes keratin to breakdown, resulting in your treatment not lasting as long.
  3. Swimming in the sea or pool reduces the lifespan of the treatment. Use GK Serum to help ensure the treatment lasts longer.

Bottom line, if your hair is unruly, frizzy or overly curly and you would like to have low maintenance, hassle free hair that is shiny and manageable, a Global Keratin Hair Treatment is just the thing for you!
